BEVERAGE SERVICE

Coffee and water service are provided at all events unless otherwise noted.  All other beverages need to be provided by the organization.

CATERING

Organizations have a few options for bringing external food to their meetings or events:

Preferred Caterers:

The Peel House has a list of preferred caterers found in the LINKS section below.

Organizations work directly with the caterer of their choice to arrange meal selection, delivery,

and service.  The Peel House will need the name of the caterer that organizations select as

part of the reservation process.  Caterers may warm and finish meals in The Peel House kitchen, but full meals may not be prepared.  Organizations should work with caterers regarding table settings to determine all set ups (i.e., buffet style, plated service, etc.).  All details must be given to The Peel House reservationist at least two weeks in advance of any event.  The Peel House does not provide any serving staff for events but will provide an event host.

Organizations serving food with no caterer:

Organizations are allowed to heat prepared food in kitchen ovens but no cooking on site is permitted.

Organizations are allowed delivery of simple lunches (boxed lunches, pizza, fast food vendors). If you have food delivered, please have a member of the organization at the atrium doors in the alley to accept food and to make sure it is delivered to the correct building. Please inform the delivery service that The Peel House is the yellow mansion north of the red brick main church building.

Organizations are allowed to have potluck lunches/dinners.

Organizations are allowed to bring in snacks.

Organizations are responsible for set up, service, and cleanup of food.  Serving pieces will be provided upon request.

Organizations will set up dishes, wash and return dishes to cabinets at the conclusion of their event.

It is First Lutheran Church’s mission to be good stewards of the environment; therefore, please refrain from bringing in paper plates, plastic cups, plastic utensils, etc.

ALCOHOL

First Lutheran Church policy allows beer and/or wine under the following guidelines:

Organizations must have prior approval to serve beer and/or wine.

All approved organizations that request to serve beer and/or wine must hire a licensed and insured bartender.  You may check with the caterer for bartending services.

Only wine and beer in bottles may be served.

Wine bottles may not be placed on the tables; wine must be served by the bartender.

No cash bars, drink tickets, etc., may be sold on site. The organization must communicate with their bartender to take care of the gratuities as cash tip jars are not allowed.

Guests are limited to two drinks per person, monitored by the organization and the bartender.

STAFFING

The Peel House is a ministry of First Lutheran Church and does not have a full-time staff.  On the day of your event, you will have a host who will assist with your event.  We kindly require that your organization or caterer assist with set up one to two hours prior to the event and clean up after the event.
